New Years Eve

Marie at dinner tonight. For the first time in a while, all of our "New Years Eve" friends had other plans. You know what, that's okay tonight. We had a nice dinner as a family and watched "Cinderella." One and Two - did you know there are THREE Cinderella movies??? I didn't until I searched for it on YouTube. So tonight was Family Night. Here are some photos...

I look TIRED. Jim says I look "pretty." Good Jim. Guess what- I AM tired!!! So you get what you get! You want clean laundry and a nice dinner; you get a tired looking wife! But hey, I will ski with you tomorrow!

Duo Bath Time!!! I actually overheard, "Here Comes Duck to Clean your face!!!" with Ty SCREAMING the entire time. Ahhhh... the joys of parenthood. Is it true that someday these two will NOT want to spend New Years with us??? Inconceivable!

Happy New Years to you and yours. Hopefully you can laugh and enjoy all the simple things as much as we did tonight!

Four!

Oh my goodness, my baby girl is four. She had a lovely day. Balloons and a cupcake for breakfast (of course!), presents at dinner time. Tomorrow we bring muffins to school and she gets to "walk around the sun" in their special classroom celebration. She insists she wants Ty to walk with her; we'll see. Here she is in the AM, holding her ever-faithful Charmin Bear (side note: today I brought her home after school and Charmin *gasp* was in Daddy's car. We had to take our nap without him. She whined a little but was able to sleep Charmin-free).

Ty enjoys his cupcake. In Marie's classroom, the other children must wait to eat their treat until the birthday celebrant has had the first bite. Marie insisted we follow this rule too. Poor Ty was babbling at a furious pace trying to convey to us that he was READY for his cupcake while Marie took her dainty little time unwrapping hers to eat.
Marie in full birthday glory. Party hat - check. Birthday plate -- check. Birthday dress with "4" on it - check. Cupcakes, presents, card - check. You can even see her baptism candle on the right border of the photo. Check.

Kissing the puppet Uncle Jeff gave her. The puppet must go away for a while, however, because Ty is absolutely terrified of it. Jim calls it the "puppet of discipline" and jokes that if Ty doesn't behave, he will have to sit in the pack-n-play with the puppet.
And now for some birthday giggles...
