Halloween and After

Halloween Night. Again we went to our friend's home downtown. The kiddos have dinner together, hang out and then we head out. I do not know how much money our friends spend on candy but it has to be $50 or more. Nonstop kids for 3 hours. You sit on your porch when you hand out candy because it is seriously one after another after another. Which was a bit much for Ty. He walked outside and saw some costumes and immediately started proclaiming, "Dat scare ME! Dat SCARE ME!" He wasn't sure if this was a fun thing or not. But we got him to try a few houses, with Daddy doing the coaxing and Marie modeling for him. He got it and the little bat and princess took off...

They did a few streets and then decided on their own they were done. Marie was given the option of going farther and she opted not to. And, yes, before I hear questions, they had many many layers under the costumes. Multiple shirts and pants and two pairs of socks on Ty. Ty loved saying "Trick or Treat" at each house and said his cheery, "DEE DOO" to show his appreciation for the candy. Now, the candy is still stored in their bags and they get a piece every day when they get home. Highlight of the Day. It is fun to watch Marie agonize over her decision while Ty just grabs one.

Ty's daycare provider works with Head Start so he was allowed to pick out a free book to bring home. I appreciate what they are trying to do but feel a little bad taking the book as we don't need it. Anyways, he picked "Miss Mary Mack." If you have read this book, I am sorry. You now will have the rhyme in your head for hours, hours, hours. We do sing it, sing it, sing it and the children wanted to try it out on the piano. So they did, did, did.
They need a little work on their technique but the spirit was there!

I love those little kids like Ty who aren't quite sure what is going on. It's different, some people look scary, and maybe this isn't such a good idCANDY! WE GET CANDY! THIS IS GREAT!
